Starting at Nursery At Sunflowers, we love welcoming new families and making you feel at home from the very start. We understand that choosing the right nursery for your child is a big decision and can sometimes feel overwhelming; so we’re here to make the whole experience as smooth, enjoyable, and reassuring as possible. We begin by inviting you (and your partner, if you wish) to visit us for a relaxed tour of our lovely nursery, where you can meet our friendly team and get a feel for our setting. If you’d like to come back for another look or think of questions later on, you’re always very welcome — we’re here whenever you need us. If you decide that Sunflowers is the right fit for your family, we’ll ask you to complete and return a registration pack. This helps us get to know you and your child as well as possible. Once we receive it, we’ll confirm availability and send your first month’s invoice. This payment acts as a deposit and is credited to your account, covering your first month’s fees, something many families find helpful as they transition back to work after maternity leave. In the weeks leading up to your child’s start date, we’ll arrange taster sessions to help everyone settle in gently. We usually offer two sessions: The first is a stay-and-play visit where you can spend time with your child, meet the team, and talk through their routines, preferences, sleep, feeding, and anything else important to you. The second session gives your child the opportunity to stay with us for up to two hours while you step away when you feel ready — helping them build confidence and begin settling in, while giving you peace of mind too. We know this is a big step for both you and your child, so please remember you’re always welcome to call during the day for an update or simply for reassurance. We’re here to support you every step of the way. Enquire at the best setting for you! What setting would you like to join* Your Name* Your Email* Phone Your Childs Name Message* Submit

The Early Years Foundation Stage Sunflowers Day Nurseries works in accordance with the 'Early Years Foundation Framework' which forms that basis of the curriculum for children from birth to 5 years. This is a statutory requirement that all nurseries, preschools, childminders and reception classes must follow. Aligning ourselves with the EYFS helps the nursery set the relevant standard of learning, development and care, as well as supporting an integrated approach to early learning and care within the Nursery Setting. The EYFS is made up of four specific themes: Our Sunflowers practitioners carefully plan learning and activities through 7 areas of learning ensuring that planning is unique and individual to each child to meet their individual needs. The 7 areas of learning are split in to three ‘Prime’ areas of learning and four ‘Specific’ areas of learning. The prime areas are important because they lay the foundations for children’s success in all areas of learning and of life: • Communication and Language • Personal, Social and Emotional • Physical As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. The specific areas provide the range of experiences and opportunities for children to broaden their knowledge and skills: • Literacy • Mathematics • Understanding the World • Expressive Art and Design
