Our Teams

At Sunflowers Day Nursery, our team is at the heart of everything we do. We proudly employ a team with diverse life experiences and qualifications, meaning each member brings a unique perspective to their role.

 

Our team of highly qualified Early Years Educators is dedicated to creating a caring, nurturing, fun, and inspiring environment where every child can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. They consistently go above and beyond to support not only the children in our care, but also their families.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards through a strong programme of training and continuous professional development. This ensures our team remains up to date with current guidance and is equipped to exceed expectations in delivering outstanding care and education.

All team members hold, or are working towards:

  • A Level 3 qualification in childcare

  • A full Paediatric First Aid certificate

  • Food Hygiene certification

  • Safeguarding training

 

Many of our team also have additional specialist training, including SEN support.

 

We are dedicated to supporting our staff through regular coaching, ongoing development opportunities, and annual performance reviews. Our colleagues are encouraged to continue expanding their knowledge and skills, with full support and guidance from Sunflowers every step of the way.

Nursery Practitioners

Our Nursery Practitioners play a key role in delivering high-quality care and education.

Qualified to at least Level 3 (or working towards it), they are supported to continue developing their skills and knowledge. Practitioners have opportunities to gain experience across different rooms, helping them grow in confidence and discover their strengths.

Full-Time Roles

We offer full-time positions for enthusiastic and committed practitioners, both qualified and unqualified (up to 36 hours per week). Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Part-Time Roles

Flexible part-time roles are available (18+ hours per week), ideal for those looking to balance work with other commitments.

Enhanced Support Roles

We are committed to supporting children with additional needs. Where additional funding is secured, we recruit dedicated staff to provide enhanced support and ensure every child can thrive.

Training & Development

Training & Development

At Sunflowers, we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards and supporting our team to achieve their full potential.

We provide and fund essential training, including:

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Paediatric First Aid

  • Safeguarding

  • Food Hygiene

  • Ongoing CPD opportunities

We also actively support staff in gaining further childcare qualifications and advancing their careers.

Work Experience Opportunities

Work Experience Opportunities

We are proud to work with schools, colleges, and universities to offer work experience placements.

Placements typically last 1–2 weeks, with schedules arranged through your educational setting, providing valuable insight into working in early years.
